A welcoming mainstream primary school in central Blackburn is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with a Reception-aged child from September.
The child has complex needs, including being both deaf and blind, and requires consistent, attentive support throughout the school day while awaiting placement in a specialist setting. This is a highly rewarding role for someone committed to inclusive education and making a meaningful difference.
Key responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support in the classroom and around the school
  • Assist with communication, engagement, and access to learning
  • Support personal care and physical needs where required
  • Work closely with teaching staff and external professionals


Requirements:

  • Proven experience supporting children with physical disabilities is essential
  • Patience, resilience, and a compassionate approach
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships
  • Full-time availability

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
