Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Advice Officer for a Local Authority Client in Northeast Lincolnshire.
In this role you will assess housing needs, provide clear homelessness prevention advice, and make timely statutory decisions to support people at risk of homelessness.
Duties:
- Carry out initial homelessness assessments and determine statutory duties under housing legislation.
- Provide clear advice and options to prevent or relieve homelessness, including housing solutions and support services.
- Make same-day decisions where appropriate and ensure accurate case recording and documentation.
- Work with internal teams and partner agencies to support customers into suitable accommodation and prevent homelessness.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Experience of assessing housing needs and working with people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
- Knowledge of housing legislation, particularly Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
- Experience of delivering advice services in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Experience of accurate case recording and working with case management systems (e.g. Civica desirable).
What's on offer:
Salary: £20ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 4-6 months minimum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
