I’m thinking of entering the interim market. How do I get started?
If you are thinking about joining the interim market, it would be a good idea to give us a call on 01772 954200. There are many options and avenues to explore but one of our SEND specialists can set you on the path which is right for you.
Who do you work with?
We predominantly work with Local Authority SEND services in the UK, covering the whole spectrum of a SEND service.
What’s involved in the application process?
Once you’re registered and onboarded with Spencer Clarke Group, you will have full access to all SEND vacancies which are sent out on a weekly basis.
The application process for these roles is fairly straightforward, usually consisting of a 1 or 2 stage interview process.
Will you send my CV without permission?
Absolutely not, you will always have full control of where your CV is sent. We will present opportunities to you and you can advise if you would like your CV to be forwarded on.
How quickly can you find me a job?
We pride ourselves on working very quickly; on average it takes us between 1 - 3 days to place a candidate.
How long will my contract be?
There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to contract lengths but you can typically expect a contract to last between 6-12 months. However, contracts can last for years depending on the needs of the Local Authority SEND service which you are working for.
What happens when my contract ends?
Entering the interim market can be daunting at first, particularly if you’re not sure what to expect. However, contracts are regularly extended and as we work with hundreds of Local Authorities, there are always plenty more job opportunities just around the corner.
Simply contact us on 01772 954200 and we can put any concerns you have at ease.
Can I work remotely?
It totally depends on the Local Authority but the majority of positions which we offer are remote or hybrid working patterns. The benefit of fully remote positions means you can work from anywhere in the UK. The work pattern type will be listed on the job advert.

Why Directors of SEND Love Working With Us.
My consultant was very supportive and knowledgeable throughout the process. He clearly has good links with various local authorities and he was instrumental in me reaching the interview process and being successful in getting the post. With Richard's support, I was very successful in this role. When the contract came to an end after 14 months, the skills I developed during this time enabled me to secure another role.
It was a first class service and the best recruiter which I have used to date. He called me at times which were inconvenient for him but convenient for me such as late in the evenings and on the weekends.
