Spencer Clarke Group are working with a number of primary schools across Preston who are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Unqualified Teaching Assistants to join their teams.
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to gain experience in a school setting. You do not need to hold a formal Teaching Assistant qualification. We are keen to speak with people who have the right attitude, a genuine interest in supporting children and transferable experience from roles such as childcare, youth work, sports coaching, care, tutoring or support work.

The Role


You will work alongside the class teacher to support pupils across the school day. Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting children with classroom activities
  • Working with pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
  • Helping children remain engaged with their learning
  • Supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and confidence
  • Assisting with activities, interventions and general classroom routines

We Are Looking For

  • A positive, patient and proactive approach
  • A genuine passion for working with children
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Reliability and a willingness to learn
  • Experience working with children or vulnerable people is beneficial but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Spencer Clarke Group work with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area. We deal with teaching placements at Primary, Secondary, Special Education needs and college level as well as support staff positions also within these.
