Tutor - SEND / SEMH (Out of School) - Gateshead & Newcastle upon Tyne
We are recruiting experienced tutors to work with SEND and SEMH pupils currently out of school, delivering structured 1:1 support in Gateshead and Newcastle upon Tyne.
Location: Gateshead / Newcastle upon Tyne (community settings / home-based learning)
Hours: Flexible (daytime availability essential)
Pay: £27-£30 per hour
Requirements (non-negotiable):

• Active DBS on the Update Service
• Strong teaching/tutoring experience, ideally with SEND/SEMH
• Experience supporting pupils with barriers to education (e.g. anxiety, behaviour needs, trauma)
• Confident managing behaviour and re-engaging disengaged learners
• Able to plan personalised sessions and evidence progress
• Must be reliable and able to travel locally

Role:

• Deliver 1:1 tailored sessions to pupils out of mainstream education
• Focus on engagement, core skills, and reintegration readiness
• Build rapport and provide consistent, structured support
• Record progress and provide brief reports after sessions
