Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant - Blackburn

We are currently recruiting Behaviour Support Teaching Assistants to work in a range of primary schools across Blackburn. These rewarding roles involve supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to engage positively in their learning and school environment.
We have both full-time and part-time opportunities available, with placements across all primary age groups. Roles can vary depending on the needs of the school and pupils and may include providing 1:1 support or working with small intervention groups.
The Role:
Supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs within the classroom.
Building positive relationships to encourage engagement and learning.
Managing and supporting behaviour in line with school policies.
Delivering targeted interventions and support programmes.
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff.
Supporting pupils both academically and emotionally.
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEND, SEMH, or challenging behaviour.
A relevant qualification is desirable, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, Health & Social Care qualification, or equivalent.
Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach.
The ability to adapt to different school settings and pupil needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
