Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential?

We are currently recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic SEN, SEND and SEMH Teaching Assistants to work in a primary school in Burnley. We have both full-time and part-time opportunities available, offering flexibility to suit your availability and preferences.

The roles can vary depending on the needs of the school and pupils and may include:

  • Providing 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

  • Supporting small intervention groups

  • Working with children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

  • Assisting pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2

  • Supporting learning, engagement, behaviour and emotional wellbeing

  • Working closely with class teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored support

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN, SEND and/or SEMH needs

  • Experience within a school, childcare, youth work, care or support setting

  • A patient, nurturing and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

  • A relevant qualification (such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Support in Teaching and Learning, Childcare, Health & Social Care or equivalent) is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
