Strategic Finance Business Partner - Interim
Spencer Clarke Group are working closely with a Local Authority on the South Coast to appoint an Interim Strategic Finance Business Partner supporting the Growth and Prosperity Directorate.
This is a senior interim assignment focused on providing strategic financial leadership across regeneration programmes, capital investment, commercial activity and joint ventures.
What's on Offer
Rate: £400-£500 per day LTD, negotiable
Contract length: 6 months initially
Full-time: 37 hours per week
Hybrid working: 1 day per week in office
Start: ASAP / subject to notice
The Role
The successful candidate will act as the senior finance lead for the directorate, providing advice, challenge and decision support to Executive Directors, Service Directors and senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading the financial support for regeneration schemes and major development programmes.
- Providing financial modelling and appraisal for capital investments and business cases.
- Supporting joint ventures, partnerships and commercial delivery arrangements.
- Leading revenue and capital budget setting, monitoring and forecasting.
- Supporting the Medium-Term Financial Strategy and transformation programmes.
- Identifying savings, income generation and cost-recovery opportunities.
- Managing and developing a Finance Business Partnering team.
- Presenting clear financial advice, risks and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
About You
You will ideally have:
- Full CCAB qualification - essential.
- Significant Local Authority finance business partnering experience.
- Strong experience supporting regeneration, economic development or major capital programmes.
- Proven experience of capital appraisals, business cases and financial modelling.
- Experience working with joint ventures or commercial partnerships.
- Previous team management and staff development experience.
