Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a number of experienced SEND Case Officers to join a South West Local Authority and coordinate the effective delivery of support for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring statutory duties are met and the most positive outcomes are achieved.

Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience of working as a SEND Caseworker within a Local Authority SEND Team.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance, particularly the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with families, schools, and partner agencies.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Manage and coordinate a caseload of children and young people with SEND, ensuring that provision outlined in the EHCP is delivered effectively and within the statutory timeframe.
  • Lead and coordinate Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments, ensuring compliance with statutory timescales.
  • Attend and contribute to annual reviews and other SEND-related meetings, providing expert guidance on complex cases.

Skills required:

  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Ability to identify trends to inform decisions and drive continuous service improvements that enhance outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
  • Commitment to ensuring decisions are informed by the views, needs, and aspirations of the child or young person with SEND.
