Finance Manager - Banking Transition Project - Interim

Spencer Clarke Group are working with a North London-based Local Authority to recruit an experienced Finance Manager to lead a key banking transition project.

This is a high-profile role supporting the Council through the migration of banking services, ensuring continuity across payments, income collection, treasury activity and wider financial operations.

What's on Offer

• Rate: £374.70 - £500 per day
• Location: London
• Working Pattern: Hybrid 1 day per week
• Contract: 3-6 months ongoign

The Role

• Lead the end-to-end banking transition project
• Manage project plans, timelines, risks and dependencies
• Oversee migration of bank accounts and banking services to a new supplier
• Ensure continuity across payroll, supplier payments, direct debits, income collection and merchant services
• Act as the key liaison between the bank, finance teams, systems teams and internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, audit requirements and internal controls
• Oversee system testing, reconciliations and data accuracy
• Lead stakeholder engagement, training and change management
• Support post-go-live stabilisation and closure of legacy bank accounts

About You

• Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA
• Strong background in banking, treasury or financial operations
• Proven experience delivering complex finance projects
• Strong understanding of financial controls, governance and audit
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Local authority finance experience would be highly desirable
• Banking transition, system implementation or ERP experience would be beneficial
• Experience with Technology One / OneCouncil would be advantageous
