We are seeking an experienced and proactive School Facilities Manager to join a welcoming school in Bolton on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to take responsibility for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and security of the school site, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and security of the school premises
- Manage planned and reactive maintenance across the site
- Conduct regular health & safety checks and ensure compliance with all regulations
- Supervise cleaning, site, and external contractors as required
- Monitor budgets and manage facilities-related expenditure
- Ensure the school grounds are tidy, safe, and presentable at all times
- Act as keyholder and respond to emergency call-outs when necessary
- Support with site setup for school events and lettings
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience in facilities, site, or premises management (ideally within a school or public sector setting)
- Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations and building compliance
- Experience managing contractors and maintenance schedules
- Good practical skills with the ability to resolve site issues efficiently
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
