Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have experience in care, support work, or working with vulnerable individuals and want to make a real difference in education?
We are currently recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to work across schools in the Blackpool area. This is a rewarding, full-time, term-time-only opportunity supporting pupils who present with SEMH needs and may require additional emotional and behavioural support.
The Role:
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs, including those with behavioural and emotional challenges
Providing 1:1 and small group support, both in and out of the classroom
Helping pupils regulate emotions and engage positively in learning
Assisting in the creation of a safe, structured, and supportive environment
Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and SENCOs
About You:
Experience in care work, youth work, support work, or a similar background is highly desirable
Experience supporting individuals with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional needs is beneficial
Calm, patient, and resilient under pressure
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Able to de-escalate challenging situations in a professional manner
A genuine passion for supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to transition into education from a care or youth support background, or for those seeking valuable experience in a specialist SEMH setting.
If you are committed, compassionate, and ready to make a positive impact, we would love to hear from you.
