Maintenance Technician
Location: Surrey (Working across two school sites)
Salary: £29,120 - £31,512 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract: Permanent, Full Time (40 hours per week)
Are you a hands-on Maintenance Technician looking for a rewarding role where your work genuinely makes a difference?
We're recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join a specialist education setting in Surrey, supporting the maintenance and upkeep of two school sites. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team and help create a safe, welcoming environment for children and young people with additional needs.
The Role
As Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repairs and general upkeep of the school buildings and grounds, ensuring the sites remain safe, compliant and well maintained.
Working closely with the Premises and Compliance Manager, you'll also support planned maintenance projects and site improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance, repairs and refurbishment work.
- Maintain the school grounds to a high standard.
- Complete routine health and safety checks, including fire alarm testing and water hygiene monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and site regulations.
- Support planned preventative maintenance programmes.
- Record maintenance activities using the school's maintenance management system.
- Assist with site improvement and development projects when required.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities or site technician role.
- Good all-round DIY and building maintenance skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Basic IT skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
