Job Title: Lunchtime Welfare Assistant
Position Type: Part-time, 5 hours per week (12pm - 1pm Mon-Fri)
Location: Blackburn
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join the team as a Lunchtime Welfare Assistant. This part-time position requires someone who is committed to promoting the well-being of students during lunch hours, ensuring a safe and supportive environment within the school premises. The Lunchtime Welfare Assistant will play a crucial role in providing assistance, guidance, and supervision to students during this time.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor students during lunch breaks to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Provide support and assistance to students who may require help or guidance during lunchtime activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment by promoting respectful behaviour and resolving conflicts among students effectively and calmly.
- Collaborate with school staff and teachers to address any behavioural or disciplinary issues that may arise during lunch hours.
- Implement school policies and procedures to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
- Report any concerns or incidents to appropriate school personnel.
- Assist in organising and supervising activities or programs designed for student engagement during lunch breaks.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a school, camp, childcare, or similar setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Understanding of child behavior and developmental stages.
- Ability to enforce rules and guidelines while maintaining a positive and supportive atmosphere.
- First aid and CPR certification is advantageous.

- All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
