Job Title: Lunchtime Welfare Assistant
Position Type: Part-time (11.30am - 1.30pm Mon-Fri)
Location: Preston
Contract: Initial agency contract with view to be made permanent

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join the team as a Lunchtime Welfare Assistant. This part-time position requires someone who is committed to promoting the well-being of students during lunch hours, ensuring a safe and supportive environment within the school premises. The Lunchtime Welfare Assistant will play a crucial role in providing assistance, guidance, and supervision to students during this time.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and monitor students during lunch breaks to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Provide support and assistance to students who may require help or guidance during lunchtime activities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment by promoting respectful behaviour and resolving conflicts among students effectively and calmly.
  • Collaborate with school staff and teachers to address any behavioural or disciplinary issues that may arise during lunch hours.
  • Implement school policies and procedures to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
  • Report any concerns or incidents to appropriate school personnel.
  • Assist in organising and supervising activities or programs designed for student engagement during lunch breaks.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a school, camp, childcare, or similar setting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Understanding of child behavior and developmental stages.
  • Ability to enforce rules and guidelines while maintaining a positive and supportive atmosphere.
  • First aid and CPR certification is advantageous.

  • All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
