We are currently supporting a client in the Newcastle area and are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Child & Family Worker to support children, young people, and families through a relationship-based and strengths-focused approach.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional, practical, and advocacy support to children, young people, and families within the community.
  • Manage a caseload, assess needs, and develop tailored support plans to improve wellbeing and independence.
  • Support children in care and unaccompanied young people, including family contact, reunification, appointments, and access to services.
  • Work with parents and carers to address challenges such as housing, debt, education, employment, and social isolation.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies, make referrals, and connect families with appropriate local services and resources.
  • Maintain accurate records, follow safeguarding procedures, and contribute to service monitoring, evaluation, and development.

Key requirements:

  • Experience working with children, young people, and families
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Ability to manage a caseload and work independently
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multi-agency partners
  • Commitment to supporting positive outcomes for families
  • Full UK driving licence (desirable, depending on role)

Contract Length:3 months initially with the view of an extension.
Pay Rate:£16.37
Working pattern - 37 hours per week, onsite.
