We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive team in Prudhoe, Northumberland.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities achieve their full potential.
As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils, teachers and the wider support team to provide tailored support that enables every child to engage, learn and thrive. You will play a key role in creating a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment where pupils feel valued and supported.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
- Supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development
- Assisting with classroom activities and adapting resources to meet individual needs
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive behaviour
- Building strong relationships with pupils, staff and families
- Supporting pupils with personal care needs where required
- Working alongside teachers and external professionals to deliver effective support plans
About you:
We are looking for someone who is:

- Passionate about supporting children and young people
- Able to build positive relationships and inspire confidence
- Reliable, adaptable and willing to work as part of a team
- A strong communicator with a positive attitude
- Experienced in supporting children with SEND (desirable, but not essential)
Experience of working with children or young people with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties or complex needs, would be an advantage. Full training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
