Permanent, Full-Time (Term Time Only - 40 hours per week, 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday)

Salary:


£22,996 - £25,068 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
£12.87 - £14.03 per hour
Plus £1,000 welcome bonus (paid in instalments)


Role Overview


We are seeking a caring, positive and motivated Teaching Assistant to support young people in a specialist learning environment.
No previous experience is required. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about building meaningful relationships and supporting young people to develop independence, confidence and essential life skills.
You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum in a safe, supportive and structured environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the learning and independence of students across academic and vocational activities
  • Work 1:1 or with small groups, depending on learner needs
  • Assist in planning, delivering and evaluating education programmes
  • Contribute to assessments, recording and reporting of learner progress
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and social development
  • Encourage independence and engagement at all times
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures consistently
  • Support learners both on-site and in off-site learning environments

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Minimum age requirement: 21+
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Good literacy, numeracy and basic ICT skills
  • Positive, patient and creative approach to supporting young people
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals
  • Experience in education or care settings
