Senior Area and Stock Condition Surveyor
Location: South West
Rate: £400 - 500 Per day
Contract: 3 - months ongoing
Sencer Clarke Group are recruiting for an experienced Senior Surveyor to support a local authority housing service, focused on stock condition, compliance, and planned maintenance across HRA assets.
This is a hands-on role combining technical leadership, complex diagnostics, and project delivery across a defined geographic patch, supporting decent homes delivery and wider energy efficiency improvement.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading stock condition surveying activity, ensuring data quality and consistent standards
- Assessing hazards and compliance requirements, including Decent Homes and HHSRS
- Diagnosing complex building defects, including damp and mould, specifying remedial works and managing delivery
- Supporting planned maintenance programmes, lifecycle planning, and budget forecasting
- Providing technical guidance to surveyors and stakeholders, including resident communications where required
- Supporting contract / project delivery activities (specification, procurement support, monitoring, quality assurance)
About you:
- Strong background in building surveying within housing, repairs, planned works, or stock condition
- Confident applying HHSRS and decent homes standards in practice
- Comfortable producing specifications, scopes of work, and managing works through to completion
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- RICS / CIOB desirable, but practical delivery experience is key
