SEND Casework Officers

A Local Authority in the West Midlands is looking for several SEND Casework Officers.

  • Rate: £270 per day
  • Hours: Full-time, fully remote
  • Contract: 3-6 months (with likely extension)
  • Start: ASAP

Role Overview:

The SEND Casework Team supports over 4,600 children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities to achieve positive educational outcomes.

This role involves working closely with families and multi-agency professionals to coordinate, develop, implement, and review Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate EHCP processes in line with the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice
  • Produce high-quality EHCPs, ensuring they are clear, accurate, and outcomes-focused
  • Prepare for and attend meetings related to the EHCP process, including annual reviews
  • Liaise effectively with parents/carers, schools, and multi-agency professionals
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with key stakeholders
  • Monitor and review EHCPs, making amendments where required
  • Support children and young people to achieve positive outcomes and transition successfully between education phases

Experience:

  • Local Authority Experience
  • SEND Case Worker / Case Officer Experience
