Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Housing Options Officer for a Local Authority Client in East London.
In this role you will assess housing needs, prevent homelessness, and provide advice and practical support to residents.
Duties:
- Assess housing needs and provide clear, lawful housing options advice to prevent homelessness.
- Negotiate with landlords, families and partner agencies to sustain or secure accommodation.
- Manage homelessness applications, enquiries and decision letters in line with legislation and timescales.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to deliver joined-up support for residents.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working in housing options, homelessness prevention or a related advice service.
- Practical knowledge of housing and homelessness legislation and statutory processes.
- Experience managing complex caseloads and meeting strict legal deadlines.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with landlords, partner agencies and vulnerable clients.
What's on offer:
Salary: £28+ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 4-6 months minimum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
