Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Private Sector Housing Team Manager for a Local Authority Client in West London.
In this role, you will lead and shape the Council's private sector housing service, tackling poor housing conditions, enforcing standards and improving outcomes for residents across the borough.
Duties:
- Lead and manage the Private Sector Housing Team, ensuring high performance and effective day-to-day service delivery
- Oversee property licensing, inspections and enforcement action, including penalties, prosecutions and Rent Repayment Orders
- Manage budgets, income streams and resources, ensuring efficient and compliant financial control
- Provide expert advice to senior officers and elected Members, including drafting reports and representing the service at committees
- Develop partnership working and intelligence-led approaches to identify and tackle poor housing standards and rogue landlords
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
- Significant experience in a senior Environmental Health or housing enforcement role within a local authority
- Proven track record of managing teams and delivering complex regulatory or enforcement programmes
- Strong experience in private sector housing work, including HMOs, licensing schemes and enforcement action
- Experience of preparing and presenting detailed reports and advising elected Members or senior stakeholders
- Demonstrable experience of managing budgets, resources and service performance targets in a public sector environment

Salary: £68,685.00
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
