Interim Fire Safety Surveyor
Location: London
Rate: £375 Per day
Contract: 3 Months Ongoing
Spencer Clarke Group are recruiting for an experienced Interim Fire Safety Surveyor on behalf of a local authority to support the delivery of their fire safety compliance across a diverse property portfolio.
You will be completing and reviewing Fire Risk Assessments, identifying fire safety deficiencies, producing clear reports, and providing practical technical advice to support remedial programmes and statutory compliance.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting Fire Risk Assessments in line with current legislation and recognised industry standards
- Reviewing existing FRAs and validating quality and suitability of assessments
- Identifying deficiencies, recommending remedial actions, and prioritising risk
- Completing fire safety inspections and audits across residential and mixed-use buildings
- Monitoring remedial works and verifying completion
- Maintaining accurate inspection reports and compliance documentation
- Supporting regulatory inspections and responding to enforcement actions where required
About you:
- Proven experience completing FRAs across residential and mixed-use/commercial buildings
- Fire Risk Assessment qualification (Level 3 or Level 4 Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment)
- Strong working knowledge of the Fire Safety Order 2005, Fire Safety Act 2021, Building Safety Act 2022
- Excellent report writing and stakeholder communication
- Desirable: IFE or IFSM membership, passive fire protection / compartmentation exposure, public sector experience
