Specialist Teaching Assistant Burnley

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive primary school in Burnley. This is a full-time role working within our specialist SEN unit, supporting pupils with highly complex needs.
You will be working closely with children who may present with a range of significant learning, communication, sensory and behavioural needs. The role requires a calm, resilient and compassionate practitioner who can build strong, trusting relationships and support pupils to access learning in a safe and structured environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis within the SEN unit
- Assisting with personalised learning plans and EHCP targets
- Supporting communication, engagement and positive behaviour strategies
- Working closely with class teachers, SENCO and external professionals
- Promoting independence, inclusion and wellbeing at all times
Requirements:
- Previous SEN experience is essential (complex needs experience highly desirable)
- Strong understanding of supporting children with additional needs
- Patient, reliable and adaptable approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
