We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Ashington, Northumberland. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEND.
  • Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom to encourage engagement and learning.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Assist with personal care where required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, health and social care, or SEND support are advantageous but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
