Spencer Clarke Group are recruiting for a SEN Support Assistant in Chorley to work with pupils who require additional support in school. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, 1:1 Teaching Assistant or SEND Support Worker looking for a long-term role in the Chorley area.
The school is looking for someone who can support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, communication difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs.
The SEN Support Assistant role will involve:

  • Working as a SEN Support Assistant in a school in Chorley
  • Providing 1:1 support and small group support for pupils with additional needs
  • Supporting children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs
  • Helping pupils access learning in the classroom
  • Supporting emotional regulation, routines and positive behaviour
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team
  • Encouraging confidence, independence and engagement in lessons
  • Supporting pupils' social, emotional and academic development


We are looking for a SEN Support Assistant who has:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN / SEND
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN TA, Youth Worker, Support Worker or Care Assistant
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs and challenging behaviour
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine interest in working in education and supporting vulnerable learners
