School Caretaker
Location: St Helen's, Merseyside
Split shift: 6am-10:15am, 2:45pm-6pm (all year round, ASAP start)
Temporary-permanent role
We are seeking a reliable, proactive and hardworking School Caretaker to join a welcoming school in St Helens. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean and secure environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
The successful candidate will initially be employed on a temporary basis, with the expectation that the role will become permanent for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
Opening and securing the school site each day
Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs
Ensuring the premises are clean, safe and well-presented
Monitoring heating, lighting and other site systems
Setting up rooms and equipment for school activities and events
Reporting maintenance issues and liaising with contractors when required
Supporting the school in maintaining health and safety standards
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous caretaking, site management or maintenance experience (desirable)
Good practical DIY and repair skills
A strong understanding of health and safety procedures
The ability to work independently and manage their time effectively
A flexible and positive approach to work
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
