Spencer Clarke Group are working with a welcoming primary school in Bebington who are seeking a dedicated Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant to join their specialist team on a full-time basis.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within a dedicated SEND base and mainstream classroom environments. You will work with children who have a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, communication needs and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
The school are looking for a compassionate and reliable individual who can provide consistency, structure and positive encouragement, helping pupils to access learning and thrive both academically and socially.


The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Support children with Autism, ADHD and a range of additional learning needs.
  • Work within the school's specialist SEND base as well as mainstream classrooms where required.
  • Adapt learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Support behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Encourage independence, communication and confidence.
  • Help create a calm, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to meet individual pupil needs.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

  • A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
  • Knowledge of Autism, ADHD and communication needs is highly beneficial.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management strategies.
  • Care, residential or youth work experience will also be considered where relevant.
