Deputy Finance Manager (CWB)

Spencer Clarke Group are working with a London local authority to secure a Deputy Finance Manager.

We are seeking an induvial who has local authority experience and ideally within Children & Young People.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inform a strategic vision that fosters innovation and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the Council's financial strategy.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize financial resources and identify risks and opportunities.
• Ensure effective budgetary control and support budget managers in resolving financial pressures.
• Promote a culture of value for money and support commercial arrangements.
• Provide training on financial management and regulations to team members and budget holders.
• Prepare high-quality reports for senior stakeholders.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of statutory returns.
• Monitor financial reporting processes and address issues promptly.
• Support the development of council-wide financial strategies.
• Assist in medium-term financial planning.
• Develop financial models to assess resource requirements and funding gaps.
• Act as a financial advisor and service delivery partner.
• Contribute to customer-focused finance services.
• Foster partnerships and community empowerment initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
• Support financial controls and internal audits.

Essential Criteria:

• Qualifications: CCAB qualification or actively studying towards one.
• Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and financial management.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and IT skills.
