Meet the Team - Rosie Alty

1-2 minutes

We're catching up with our Senior Compliance Officer, Rosie Alty, to discover more about what motivates her at work and what advice she'd give her younger self!

How long have you worked at Spencer Clarke Group?

I began my career at Spencer Clarke Group in October 2022. I love being a part of the team and it’s a lot of fun to work here!

What does your role entail?

I work on the compliance team and I’m responsible for 3 consultants compliance. My day to day involves me liaising with our consultants to ensure candidates are able to begin their new roles as quickly as possible.

What do you love most about what you do?

There’s a lot of things I love about my job. I love being able to develop my skills everyday and I think having targets to meet is a great way to stay focused.

I’m constantly learning and speaking to different people which gives me great job satisfaction!

What motivates you at work?

On a personal level, I’m motivated by saving up for a new car and I know that working hard will help me achieve this soon.

I’m also motivated by seeing my teammates hit their targets and succeed in their careers. This encourages me to perform well in my own role and contribute to the overall success of the team.

How would you describe working at Spencer Clarke Group?

There’s never a dull moment at Spencer Clarke Group. The office environment is very lively and everyone is really supportive of each other.

We always have something to look forward to as a team which helps to strengthen relationships in the office and gives the team a real family feel.

Tell us about your career path so far.

Before beginning my career in recruitment, I studied Psychology, Sociology and English at Hutton Sixth Form.

Upon leaving college, I worked at Starbucks and I loved helping the public and developing my soft skills.

After leaving Starbucks, I was keen to pursue a career as an Estate Agent; however, when I saw the vacancy at Spencer Clarke Group, I knew it would give me the opportunity to develop my skills further.

I’m so happy I applied for the role in compliance and I haven’t looked back since!

How would your colleagues describe you?

I hope they would describe me as outgoing, friendly and a good laugh!

Where are we most likely to find you outside of work?

I’m really fortunate to have many good friends who I spend most of my spare time with. I like to have a social event to look forward to each weekend - we’re never short of plans!

I also love spending time with my Labrador, Ted. He’s the best!

Tell us something we’d never guess about you!

I’ve broken the same arm four times. It once happened on Christmas Eve after I slipped on a coke bottle. Needless to say, A&E was not where I wanted to spend Christmas Eve!

What’s next for you at Spencer Clarke Group?

I love being a member of the compliance team and in the future I hope to take on more responsibilities within this department as the company continues to grow.

I’m keen to help more of our consultants with their compliance, to continue developing my skills and learning more about the recruitment industry as a whole.
