Spencer Clarke Group are working with a welcoming primary school in Ellesmere Port who are seeking an Unqualified SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, communication needs and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence and reach their full potential within a structured and nurturing environment.
The school is looking for someone who can provide consistency, reliability and punctuality, as many of the children thrive with familiar routines and trusted adults. Previous experience supporting children or young people with additional needs is essential.
Suitable backgrounds may include care settings, children's residential services, youth work, healthcare, support work or specialist education, where behaviour management, emotional support and safeguarding are key responsibilities.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
• Support children with Autism, ADHD and a range of additional learning needs.
• Assist pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and classroom engagement.
• Work alongside the class teacher to adapt learning activities and provide personalised support.
• Support pupils with speech, language and communication needs.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interaction.
• Help maintain a calm, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
• Build strong, consistent relationships that enable pupils to flourish.

Essential Experience:

Applicants should have experience supporting children or young people with:

• SEND or additional learning needs.
• Autism (ASC), ADHD or communication needs.
• Behavioural or emotional regulation needs.
• Physical or medical needs (desirable).
• Care, residential, youth work or similar support backgrounds.

Applications without relevant SEND or support experience may not be shortlisted.
