Spencer Clarke Group are working with a number of schools across Blackpool who are looking for Trainee Teaching Assistants to support pupils in the classroom. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children and young people but may not yet have formal school-based experience.
You do not need to be a qualified Teaching Assistant. Schools are often keen to meet people with the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn.

The role


As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you may be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups or alongside the class teacher. Your role will be to help pupils engage with learning, stay focused and feel supported throughout the school day.
You may be supporting with:

  • Classroom activities and general learning support
  • Reading, writing and numeracy tasks
  • Behaviour and emotional regulation
  • SEN support, including pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH or communication needs
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Helping pupils develop confidence and independence

We are interested in hearing from people with backgrounds in:

  • Care or support work
  • Youth work
  • Sports coaching
  • Nurseries or childcare
  • Residential support
  • Psychology or education graduates
  • Voluntary work with children or young people
  • Personal experience supporting children with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
