Team Leader, Estate Management (Contract)
Location: East of England, hybrid
Rate: £400/day (negotiable)
Contract: 3-month ongoing
Spencer Clarke Group are looking to appoint an experienced Team Leader (Estate Management) to lead a high-performing estates management function supporting a public sector corporate estate. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong technical remit across commercial estates management and valuation.
You will lead the team delivering proactive estate management across a diverse portfolio, maximising income (rent reviews, lease renewals, lettings) and providing high-quality valuation and property advice across the organisation.
Responsibilities include
- Lead and manage the Estates Management team, prioritising workload, performance reporting and development
- Oversee day-to-day management and letting of non-operational assets, driving income and minimising voids
- Deliver and quality-check estates management activity including rent reviews, lease renewals, licences, wayleaves, dilapidations, assignments/sublettings, change of use and rating advice
- Coordinate and approve annual asset valuations of the operational estate, ensuring compliance with IFRS and RICS standards and responding to audit queries
- Manage service charge budgets and rural estates budgets, ensuring governance, compliance and cost recovery
About you
- RICS qualified (General Practice), Registered Valuer (or eligible)
- Strong, recent experience across commercial property valuation and commercial estates management
- Experience operating in a local authority or similarly complex organisation, ideally at a senior level
- Confident team leader with strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and delivering within governance frameworks
