Location: Skelmersdale, Lancashire

Start Date: Easter or September (Flexible)

Salary: £30,000 - £46,525 per annum (depending on experience)

Position Overview: As a Teacher of Geography, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and informative lessons that inspire students to explore geographical concepts and develop a deeper understanding of the world. This role is ideal for an experienced educator who is passionate about Geography and has a strong understanding of geographical principles. You will have the opportunity to inspire and motivate students, helping them develop their skills and knowledge in this fascinating subject.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Geography lessons that stimulate curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Cover a range of geographical topics, including physical geography, human geography, and environmental issues.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students and promote active learning.
  • Provide support and guidance to students as they develop their geographical skills, including map reading, data analysis, and fieldwork.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum plans and schemes of work.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parent consultations, and school events as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant degree in Geography or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching Geography at the secondary school level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for promoting curiosity and understanding of the world.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Commitment to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
