Salary: £30,000 - £46,525 per annum (depending on experience)

Position Overview: As a Teacher of English, you will inspire and engage students in the study of English language and literature. You will deliver dynamic and stimulating lessons that encourage students to explore a range of texts, develop their writing skills, and express themselves with confidence. In addition to classroom teaching, you will also lead targeted intervention sessions to support students who require additional assistance in English. This role is ideal for an experienced educator who is passionate about English and has a strong understanding of literary concepts and language skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons that inspire students to explore literature, develop analytical skills, and improve their writing abilities.
  • Conduct targeted intervention sessions to support students who require additional assistance in English, focusing on areas such as literacy, comprehension, and writing skills.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to express themselves creatively.
  • Provide constructive feedback on students' work and support them in their journey to becoming confident and articulate communicators.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum plans and schemes of work.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parent consultations, and school events as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant degree in English literature, English language, or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching English at the secondary school level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for promoting a love for literature and language.
  • Experience in leading targeted intervention sessions to support students' learning.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Commitment to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
