Tax Assistant

Spencer Clarke Group are working with a close knit and forward-thinking accountancy practice who are looking to add a Tax Assistant into their firm.

The purpose of this role is to support the tax team to maintain a high standard of personal tax return and tax work with the current legislation to all clients.

This opportunity would suit someone who has experience/qualifications or someone who is keen to embark on a career within accountancy.

You will be able to maintain and build relationships with all tax clients are well as the following responsibilities:

• Undertake tax compliance work for clients, including self-assessment returns and P11ds.
• Perform sole trade tax checks as required.
• Ad hoc “project” work as required e.g. forecasting personal tax payments for clients.
• Assist with general tax department deadlines to ensure all are met and payment reminders sent.
• Help to develop and maintain the internal systems to ensure a smooth and efficient process for all tax work.
• Build new and existing client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client’s businesses.
• Provide tax advice to clients on an ad-hoc basis as queries arise.
• Assist with tax planning as required.
• Join in client meetings as required.

As well as this from time to time you may be asked to support across other areas of the business.
