Job Title: Interim Strategic Manager - Waste & Fleet
Location: Hampshire, UK
Duration: Interim - Ongoing
Spencer Clarke Group are looking for a Strategic Manager for Waste & Fleet on behalf of a local Authority client in Hampshire, you will play a leading role in leading and managing waste and recycling collection services, fleet management, and depot responsibilities for the council.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage waste and recycling collection services, fleet management, and depot responsibilities.
- Serve as the council's lead officer and subject matter expert for waste and fleet-related services.
- Be accountable for the performance and delivery of operational goals, ensuring alignment with director and executive director objectives.
- Effectively manage day-to-day operations, including financial and people management matters.
- Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices in waste operations and fleet management.
- Utilize extensive knowledge of the waste and transport industry, including national policies and strategies, to inform decision-making.
Qualifications/Experience Needed
- Relevant degree or equivalent level of experience
- International Freight Transport CPC
- Membership of a relevant professional body (ILM/CIWM)
- Proven experience in managing municipal waste operations and fleet-related operations.
- Solid understanding of waste operations, fleet management, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Extensive knowledge of the waste and transport industry, including national policies and strategies.
