Spencer Clarke Group are recruiting for an interim Special Projects Contract Manager to lead the delivery of high-risk, safety-critical contracts relating to external wall systems (EWS) across a large residential portfolio.

This role focuses on commissioning and managing investigative and exploratory works to support building safety compliance, risk mitigation and remediation strategies, while maintaining tight commercial control and robust contract performance.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing safety-critical investigative works contracts across a high volume of buildings
• Overseeing surveys and inspections including FRAEWs, spandrel panel investigations, render and facade assessments, and Fire Risk Assessments
• Monitoring contractor performance against KPIs, specifications, programme milestones and governance requirements
• Ensuring compliance with relevant guidance and standards, including PAS 9980
• Leading end-to-end procurement activity, including specifications, tendering, evaluation, award and mobilisation
• Budget management, forecasting and financial reporting across investigative and enabling works programmes
• Supporting legal recovery activity, including evidence gathering and dispute management
• Supporting funding applications and compliance reporting (including cladding remediation funding routes)
• Stakeholder management with residents, consultants, contractors, legal teams and internal leadership

About you:

• Significant contract management experience in construction, housing, building safety or similar
• Strong understanding of EWS and fire safety regulations and best practice
• Proven delivery of complex, high-risk programmes at scale
• Strong procurement and mobilisation experience
• Commercially astute with confident stakeholder management skills
