Hybrid working - North London

On behalf of our Local Authority client in North London, Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced SEND Co-ordinator to assist in fulfilling the statutory duties required to meet the needs of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The SEND Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient implementation of statutory procedures and will oversee the ongoing provision of support for children and young people with SEND within the local authority.

Essential Requirements:

  • Ability to manage a varied workload, meet statutory deadlines and maintain accurate records.
  • Local Authority experience with a strong understanding of SEN legislation, particularly the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and the Children and Families Act 2014.
  • Proven experience of working collaboratively with education, health and social care professionals.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Support colleagues across the service with their caseload, particularly during busy periods such as phased transfers.
  • Manage and complete annual reviews, ensuring the EHCP remains relevant and statutory timescales are met.
  • Coordinate a person-centred, outcome-focused and multi-agency approach to assessment and delivery of support.

As SEND Co-ordinator you will:

  • Build effective relationships with children and young people with SEND, their families and education settings.
  • Assess needs, identify appropriate support, and resolve complex issues collaboratively.
  • Prioritise work effectively, meet statutory deadlines, and manage competing demands.
