SEND Casework Officer
£280 per day
3 month initial contract

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced SEND Casework Officer to successfully manage and coordinate Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments and plans for a caseload of children and young people with SEND.
Working within the SEND team for our local authority client in the East of England, the SEND Case Officer will be responsible for drafting and amending Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring they are clear, accurate and legally compliant.
Essential Requirements:
- Secure working knowledge of SEND regulations including the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and The Children and Families Act 2014.
- Proven experience of working within SEND for a local authority with a strong understanding of the issues facing children and young people with SEND.
- Ability to manage a demanding caseload and meet statutory deadlines within a busy and time-pressured environment.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Draft and amend Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring they are high quality and issued within legal timeframes.
- Monitor the progress of children and young people with SEND through the Statutory Annual Review process.
- Liaise regularly with families, education, health and social care professionals to ensure coordinated support that promotes multi-agency collaboration.
Skills required:
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities to meet statutory deadlines.
- Ability to empathise, maintaining a balanced and professional approach in sensitive or high-pressure situations.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive, professional relationships with families and stakeholders.
