SEND Case Officer
£280 per day
3 - 6 month contract, likely to be extended
Hybrid working - 2 days per week in office
Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a number of skilled SEND Case Officers with experience within post 16 to assist in meeting the continuing needs of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Working as part of a local authority team in North London, the SEND Case Officers will be responsible for the suitable placement and sustained provision of children and young people with SEND within the local authority area.
Essential Requirements:
- Extensive experience of SEN Casework and EHCP writing for a Local Authority.
- Proven experience of working within a post 16 team.
- Strong understanding of SEND legislation including the SEND Code of Practice 2015 and The Children and Families Act 2014.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Production of high-quality and person-centred Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Co-ordination of EHCP assessments and annual reviews, ensuring compliance with legal timeframes.
- Managing a caseload of children and young people with SEND, working closely with families, schools, health, and social care professionals to ensure appropriate support and provision is in place.
Skills required:
- Ability to produce clear and accurate EHCP documentation and maintain precise records.
- Proficient in managing a high-volume caseload, prioritising tasks, and meeting statutory deadlines.
- Able to communicate effectively and build strong working relationships with parents, schools and professionals.
