Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Lancaster, UK
Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support and assistance to children with SEN/SEMH within the classroom environment.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to implement individualised education plans and strategies.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.
  • Assist with the development of educational materials and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Support students in developing their social and emotional skills through positive reinforcement and engagement.
  • Collaborate with other members of the school staff and external professionals to ensure the holistic well-being of students.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification related to working with children in schools (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools).
  • Proven experience working with children with SEN/SEMH in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges and barriers faced by children with SEN/SEMH and the ability to implement appropriate strategies to support their learning and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children to help them reach their full potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
