SEN Commissioning Officer

Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced SEN Commissioning Officer to support a local authority in South West England in planning, obtaining and monitoring high-quality services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Essential Requirements:
- Secure understanding of SEND legislation, including The Children and Families Act 2014 and The SEND Code of Practice (2015).
- Proven experience of working within SEND for a Local Authority.
- Ability to manage complex projects and prioritise competing demands.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Provide helpful advice and guidance to parents during each stage of the statutory process.
- Liaise with Headteachers and SEN Coordinators to resolve issues and ensure that providers meet each child's specialist SEND needs.
- Prepare and present cases for meetings and be responsible for the implementation of follow up actions.
Skills required:
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills with a good eye for detail.
- Able to work well collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
