Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Burnley, Lancashire
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs in classroom settings.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to the social and emotional development of all students.
  • Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to support students with challenging behavior.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and provide tailored support to students.

Requirements:

  • A qualification related to working with children in schools, such as Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning.
  • Previous experience working with SEN children or children with challenging behavior is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient attitude towards supporting the diverse needs of students.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to learn and adapt to new strategies and approaches.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
