We have an exciting permanent opportunity available with Medway council!
They are looking to recruit a Senior EHC Coordinator to join their high performing Post-14 Inclusion Team. This is a leadership opportunity within a strong and established SEND service, where your expertise will directly contribute to providing positive outcomes for children and families.
In this key role, you will be working closely with senior leaders and colleagues across the service to help strengthen practice, support professional development, and provide a high standard of EHCP's.

Essential Requirements:

  • Hybrid role with attendance required 3 days per week in the office, regular in-person attendance is essential to support collaboration, team working, and service delivery
  • Prior Local Authority experience within SEND services
  • Significant experience of statutory SEND processes, including EHC needs assessments, Annual Reviews, and post-16 transition planning
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice 2015, and relevant legislation for young people aged 14-25


Duties include:

  • Oversee statutory EHCP assessments and Annual Reviews, ensuring compliance with SEND legislation.
  • Act as a key point of contact between families, education providers and partner agencies, implementing strong communication and successful multi-agency working.
  • Manage small complex caseloads, using knowledge of legislation to strive towards positive transition and adulthood outcomes.
  • Encourage the consistent and effective use of the SEND case management system, ensuring accurate, high-quality, and timely recording across all casework
  • Lead on embedding the SEND statutory framework and local processes, including EHC needs assessments, transition planning, and EHCP development for young people aged 14-25
