PFA EHC Coordinator

£290 per day

6 month initial contract

Remote working available - North London

On behalf of our Local Authority client in North London, Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an experienced EHC Coordinator to join their Preparing for Adulthood (PFA) team, assisting them in meeting the needs of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The EHC Coordinator will be responsible for leading the statutory assessment and review process for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring they are legally compliant, person-centred, and focused on outcomes that support successful transitions into adulthood.

Essential Requirements:

  • Local Authority experience with a good understanding of SEN legislation, particularly the SEND Code of Practice and the Children and Families Act 2014.
  • A good knowledge of the Preparing for Adulthood framework.
  • An empathetic first point of contact with a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people with SEND.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Ensure EHCPs are legally compliant, outcome-focused, and reflect the individual needs and aspirations of the child or young person.
  • Manage and complete annual reviews of EHCPs, ensuring the EHCP remains relevant and effective.
  • Co-ordinate multi-agency collaboration to ensure person-centred support for young people with SEND.

Skills required:

  • Able to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to explain complex information clearly and sensitively.
  • Detail-oriented with good record-keeping and administrative skills.
