We are seeking a compassionate, proactive Pastoral Lead to support the wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development of young people with complex needs, including SEND and mental health challenges.
This is a high-impact, student-focused role at the heart of school life, where your work directly helps young people feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
What you'll do
- Provide daily pastoral and wellbeing support
- Deliver 1:1 mentoring and interventions
- Support attendance, behaviour, and safeguarding processes
- Lead conflict resolution, mediation, and de-escalation
- Work closely with families, staff, and external agencies
- Support PSHE and whole-school wellbeing initiatives
- Champion student voice and engagement
- Record and monitor pastoral data to improve outcomes
What we're looking for
- Experience in pastoral, youth, or wellbeing support roles
- Confident supporting learners with SEND, ASC, SEMH, or mental health needs
- Strong understanding of safeguarding in education
- Calm, consistent, and solution-focused approach
- Skilled in behaviour management and de-escalation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
