Outreach Tutor - SEND & SEMH

Location: Leyland (Community-based - students' homes and local libraries)
Contract: Full-time - Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outreach Tutor to support learners with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs in the Leyland area.

This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity, ideal for an experienced educator who enjoys working one-to-one and making a meaningful impact outside of a traditional classroom setting.

The Role

  • Deliver tailored one-to-one tuition to learners with SEND and SEMH needs
  • Support up to 3 students per day
  • Work in a variety of settings, including students' homes and local libraries across Leyland
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and professionals
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to support development

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting learners with SEND and/or SEMH needs
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Confident working independently in community settings
  • Must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable but not essential
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Passionate about inclusive education and outreach learning
