Spencer Clarke Group are seeking Learning Support Assistants to work within mainstream schools across the Darlington area supporting students with a range of additional learning and developmental needs.

This rewarding role involves working closely with teachers and SEN departments to ensure students receive the support they need to access learning and make progress.

Students may have:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Dyslexia and literacy difficulties
  • Speech, language and communication needs
  • Mild learning difficulties
  • SEMH needs
  • Physical or sensory impairments


The Role:

  • Supporting students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
  • Assisting with classroom activities and differentiated learning
  • Encouraging independence and confidence
  • Supporting EHCP targets and intervention programmes
  • Helping maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and SEND teams


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience supporting children or young people
  • A caring and proactive approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to different school environments
  • Passion for inclusive education
