Repairs Surveyor
Location: London
Rate: £226.57
Contract: 3-month ongoing
Spencer Clarke Group are recruiting for an Interim Repairs Surveyor to support a busy social housing repairs service. You will provide day-to-day surveying support across responsive repairs, ensuring works are correctly diagnosed, specified, delivered and quality checked.
This is a hands-on role involving pre and post inspections, contractor oversight, resident liaison, and strong focus on right-first-time outcomes, compliance and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities include
- Manage a responsive repairs workload across a designated patch
- Complete pre-inspections and post-inspections, including quality assurance checks
- Diagnose complex repairs and produce clear specifications / schedules of work
- Monitor contractor performance, challenge non-compliant works and drive remedial actions
- Support damp and mould inspections, reporting and resident advice
- Handle technical queries, variations, disputes and escalations, producing written updates when needed
- Ensure safeguarding awareness during visits and escalate concerns appropriately
About you
- Proven experience as a Repairs Surveyor / Patch Surveyor / Maintenance Surveyor in social housing
- Strong understanding of responsive repairs delivery and contractor management
- Confident producing specs for complex repairs and providing pragmatic technical advice
- Comfortable working in occupied homes, with excellent resident and stakeholder communication
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant H&S and compliance expectations
